You can be nice and speak your truth

Is your “niceness” getting in the way of your needs?

Being nice often comes from the need to people-please and maintain harmony in relationships. This alone isn’t bad, however, when it interferes with getting your needs met and speaking your truth, you will feel bad. And we all know when we feel bad, our health and leadership suffer.

3 WAYS YOU CAN BE NICE AND SPEAK YOUR TRUTH

A few examples:

“I’m grateful you have extended the invite, but I need to say “no” this time, I need to focus on my ___.”

“When you say____, I feel____. I would appreciate it if you would stop saying that.”

“I value our work together, and I think we could support each other in new ways. Can we discuss how we can improve our working relationship?”
